In a recent interview with Cleveland, Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy shared the progress for the band’s upcoming album M A N I A has the green light, saying that they’ve officially finished recording.
Wentz mentions that it’s an exciting time for the band, reaching the final stages of the album: “We’re just in the mixing stages now. Now, we’re just mixing and mastering the songs, which is really exciting. This didn’t seem like a place we could get to six months ago. It’s really cool to be here. We finished recording, maybe last week.”
Last month they released a single off the album titled “The Last Of The Real Ones” and Wentz has said that the next song will be different in terms of its instrumentation: “The next song we put out will be less electronic, comparatively, but at the same time the record is called “Mania” so it’s going to feel manic just by nature of what it’s called. I think it’s not all super electronic but maybe it is all pretty aggressive.”
In the lead up to the album’s release, there are obvious plans to tour the new material and Wentz explains that live production of the songs will be different than what they’re normally used to, but it will reflect the visuals of M A N I A: “It’s going to be different staging than our last couple of tours. I’m excited about it. We haven’t rehearsed it yet, so hopefully it all works. The visuals will be based on mania and based on the album. Hopefully that all comes together the way it’s supposed to.”
